Annual Support (Operating Fund)

Like all 501(c) 3 organizations, the USS LST Ship Memorial, Inc. requires the generous support of donors to keep the ship operating on an annual basis to provide the educational tours to thousands of visitors. Donations, combined with visitor fees, help pay for the basics of electricity, water, heat, cleaning and trash, and to pay for the materials used by volunteers to maintain ship on a daily basis. Your generous support keeps the ship ready to welcome visitors who learn about the outstanding service of all LSTs from World War II to the Korean War and later service in Vietnam.

Matching Gifts

Many companies encourage philanthropy by matching their employees’ gifts to non-profit agencies. Most match the gift dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount. Participating companies may also recognize donations made by retirees and/or spouses of employees.

Generally, a matching gift will go toward the same program as your donation unless your company’s policy requires otherwise. The matched funds sent to USS LST Ship Memorial will count toward your total giving and donor recognition.

To find out if your company has a matching gift program, please inquire with your company’s human resources department or company website.

How does it work?

Some companies require the employee to complete a Matching Gift Form, usually available from personnel or human resources. Other companies ask their employees to submit the request online. If your company requires a paper form, complete your portion and send it to us. We will do the rest!
